In the accompanying interview for the mag’s feature, the country crooner opened up not only about being in love with Gwen Stefani — but also how he’s head over heels for her three sons, Kingston, 11, Zuma, 9, and Apollo, 3.
The 41-year-old gushed to the outlet:
“For a long time, it was awkward trying to figure out what my place is and in their mind too. The best part for me, selfishly, is discovering a part of myself that I guess I never really knew was in there. It’s definitely an instinct that kind of kicks in.”
But he admits the couple has their hands full, as he joked:
“There’s days where you go, ├óΓé¼╦£Oh my God, when does school start?'”
That feeling doesn’t last long though:
“An hour later you’re going, ├óΓé¼╦£God, I can’t wait ’til they get home.’ They’re so damn funny. It’s just my first time being around it, and it’s easy to fall in love with those kids. They’re pretty special.”
As for his love fest with Gwen, The Voice judge says the romance ages like a fine wine:
“It just feels like it gets stronger all the time, you know? It’s crazy.”
“We are going to do Christmas this year at my house. We are going to go to Oklahoma first and do a pre-Christmas there, then we’re gonna come back and do Christmas at mine.”
The pair wrote the duet You Make It Feel Like Christmas for her Christmas album — which Stefani says brought them even closer because “every day is Christmas because we’re together.”
OMG, barf. JK. Kinda.
