Julia Roberts doesn’t know why she was spared.

The Pretty Woman star was quick to call the alleged predatory behavior in the industry “ugly in so many ways,” but admitted that sexual harassment has never been part of her personal experience in the biz.

She explained:

“I’ve never had this experience. I mean, I almost feel bad saying that because I don’t know why I was spared. You hear some of these heart-wrenching, awful stories ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ and I have a daughter ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it is heartbreaking. But it’s not been part of my experience.”

Lucky her.

When asked if she thought she would have picked up on predatory behavior as an up and coming actress, the 50-year-old mused:

“Perhaps I wouldn’t have recognized it for what it was├óΓé¼┬ª I don’t know.”

Though she isn’t a victim herself, Roberts has spoken out about the controversy and shown solidarity with the women accusing Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct.
