Transparent Showrunners Are Considering Writing Off Jeffrey Tambor’s Lead Character Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations

Jeffrey Tambor

Jeffrey Tambor‘s job on Transparent is possibly in jeopardy.

As we reported, the 73-year-old actor is under fire for two allegations of sexual harassment — one from his former assistant, Van Barnes, and another from his costar, Trace Lysette.

Season five is set to debut next year under the direction of new showrunner Jill Gordon — and we’re hearing Amazon producers are preparing to continue on with the dramedy without the Emmy winner. Wow!

A source told Variety of the potential switch up:

“There’s momentum on the inside to continue without Jeffrey Tambor.”

An insider also said it wasn’t Lysette’s intention to derail the popular show:

“Trace in speaking her truth also wanted to make sure that Transparent continued, but without the toxic element that is Jeffrey Tambor.”

We’ll be interested to see how the writers intend on writing Maura off.

Stay tuned alert!
