OK, we’re doomed.
Boston Dynamics caught the world’s attention with the latest successful test of their Atlas robot.
In an astounding video (above), the 5’9″, 180 lb machine does a series of increasingly difficult vertical leaps before performing a perfect backflip and sticking the landing!
Obviously, people on Twitter had some thoughts, ranging from impressed to terrified beyond all capacity for rational thought. See some of the best (below)!
The robot did a backflip.
“So what, can it dance?”
The robot danced.
“Huh. But can it… uh…”
“It can applaud others.”
“That’s not hard!”

Me: Well Atlas, if you’re so good, why don’t you do a back fl—oh. Okay.@BostonDynamics does it again. Amazing progress in #robotics! Though this video needed more robot kicking. #ArtificialIntelligencehttps://t.co/urdp64gU0M pic.twitter.com/tMpKKhVWU5

(Machine processes numbers 1000x faster than human brain)
(Computer beats human at chess)
I don’t care what anyone else says: I love parkour robot and can’t wait for him to do a triple backflip and land on my brittle human skull https://t.co/ma2GrZUBnq
