Sounds like Al Franken is a real opportunist when it comes to photo-ops with women.
A woman has come forward accusing the Minnesota Senator of grabbing her butt as they posed for a photo at the 2010 Minnesota State Fair.
Lindsay Menz told CNN that Franken was at a booth at the state fair when they struck a conversation before her husband proceeded to take a photo of them. She said the former Saturday Night Live writer “pulled me in really close, like awkward close, and as my husband took the picture, he put his hand full-fledged on my rear. It was wrapped tightly around my butt cheek.”
Yuck — right in front of her husband, too!
Menz was so distraught, she told her husband and her parents what happened right after Franken left. She even let her social media following in on the sordid details, captioning the photo on Facebook:
“Dude ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ Al Franken TOTALLY molested me! Creeper!”
Menz is the second woman to accuse Franken of inappropriate touching. Last week, radio host Leeann Tweeden claimed Franken groped her and kissed her without consent during a 2006 USO tour.
Franken apologized to Tweeden and called for a Senate ethics committee investigation. His response to Menz’s accusations, however, was significantly less apologetic.
He said in a statement to CNN on Sunday:
“I take thousands of photos at the State Fair surrounded by hundreds of people, and I certainly don’t remember taking this picture. I feel badly that Ms. Menz came away from our interaction feeling disrespected.”
Don’t worry, Al, we don’t think too many women will be lining up for a pic with you anytime soon.
