Lena Dunham is canceled.

Or, at least, she is for former Lenny Letter collaborator Zinzi Clemmons. On Sunday, Clemmons took to Twitter to explain why she has chosen to distance herself from Dunham and Jenni Konner‘s celebrated newsletter.

According Zinzi’s statement, her falling out with Lena was finalized following the Girls creator’s public support of TV writer Murray Miller. In case you missed it, Miller — a former scribe for the HBO hit — has been accused of sexually assaulting actress Aurora Perrineau. Despite being a prominent feminist, Dunham shockingly chose to write a statement on behalf of herself and Konner in support of Murray.

The 31-year-old was widely criticized for her statement as she implied that Perrineau “misreported” her assault. After being put on BLAST for the highly inappropriate response, the controversial actress/director/writer apologized for her words. Here is a snippet from her apology:

“I naively believed it was important to share my perspective on my friend’s situation as it has transpired behind the scenes over the last few months. I now understand that it was absolutely the wrong time to come forward with such a statement and I am so sorry.”

Smh. We really don’t blame Zinzi for distancing herself from Dunham and Co.

To make matters worse, Zinzi has also chosen to cut professional ties with Lena as she’s had a problem with the filmmaker’s alleged “hispter racism.” Apparently, Clemmons “ran in the same circles” as Lena as she studied alongside Dunham’s pal/Girls costar, Jemima Kirke, at Brown University.

The Philadelphia native explained:

“I avoided those people like the plague because of their well-known racism, I’d call their strain ‘hipster racism’, which typically uses sarcasm as a cover… In Lena’s circle, there was a girl who was known to use the N word in conversation in order to be provocative, and if she was ever called on it, she would say ‘it’s just a joke.’ … I was often in the same room with her, but I never spoke to her, only watched her from afar in anxiety and horror.”

Not to mention, per Zinzi, this isn’t the first time someone in Lena’s circle of friends has been accused of assault. Apparently, a close friend of Clemmons’ suffered abuse at the hands of someone from Lena’s social circle. Oh, and these “hipster” racist are still close to the New York native.

Zinzi added on Twitter:

How awful. We’re sure Lena will have a response to these allegations soon.

Be sure to check back!!
