Rebel Wilson feels she was bullied by Bauer Media.
On Sunday, the Pitch Perfect 3 star accused the media company of participating in an “intentional take down” scheme after they published articles alleging she lied about her real name and age.
In fact, while chatting with Channel Seven‘s Sunday Night, Wilson got very emotional as she discussed the devastation she felt after reading the publisher’s “brutal” pieces about her private life.
On how she felt “bullied” by the company, Rebel explained:
“They have no idea how actually brutally hard it is … yes I am an actress and I am in the public eye, but I’m a human being.”
Fair point. She continued:
“They were just absolutely brutal and bullied me into the ground.”
When asked if she believes the entertainment company participated in an intentional take down, Rebel said that was “definitely” the case. Oof.
Still the Bridesmaids alum has had the last laugh, as back in June, she won her legal case against Bauer Media. The judge ruled in Rebel’s favor as she proved the magazine articles DID damage her reputation and marketability. The 37-year-old was awarded a $4.5 million payout in October.
Unsurprisingly, Bauer Media is trying to appeal the ruling. Hopefully, for Rebel’s sake, the appeal won’t rule in BM’s favor.
