Charlie Rose wanted many things he could never have — specifically, a submissive Maggie Gyllenhaal to his James Spader.
Another woman has come forward with a sexual misconduct allegation against the disgraced television anchor, and this claim hits a new level of inappropriateness.
Sarah Gordon, a former intern on the Charlie Rose talk show in 2002, claims Rose once forced her to watch a sexually explicit scene from the movie Secretary when she delivered mail to his apartment one night.
In a new report with NBC News, she recalled:
“I proceeded to go into the living room, and he said, ├óΓé¼╦£I want to show you this scene from this movie,’ and he said, ├óΓé¼╦£Have a seat,’ you know, ├óΓé¼╦£relax,’ and he proceeded to turn on the film Secretary, which is a sexually involved film involving S&M, unfortunately.”
Yup, the esteemed journalist made his intern watch a movie about a boss doing weird sex stuff to his secretary.
Not only that, Rose allegedly asked a penetrating follow-up question after the screening. Gordon added:
“He asked me, ├óΓé¼╦£How does this make you feel?’ I did not run, but I [was] just like, ├óΓé¼╦£Oh, okay. Well, I guess some people are really into this and I’m not.'”
So. Fucking. Revolting.
Looking back on her encounter, Gordon says she has some empathy for “troubled” souls like Rose, but thinks his ousting is for the best. She added:
“I think he’s probably troubled, and I have empathy for people that are troubled and, you know, I think we all have issues in life. I don’t think someone like that deserves to have a position like that if they’re going to abuse their power anyway, so I think it’s probably best, for the best.”
We just hope Rose never watched 50 Shades of Grey.
