This Masturbation Assault Thing Has Been Going On A Long Time! Read Songwriter Diane Warren’s Shocking ’70s Tale!

This weird fetish of powerful men forcing women to watch them masturbate we’ve heard so much about this year has been a new one on us.

With Harvey Weinstein, Louis C.K., Brett Ratner, and more all having been accused of the exact same act (among other things), there’s definitely some kind of trend going on.

But how long has this been going on?

Diane Warren, the veteran songwriter who cowrote the Oscar-nominated Til It Happens To You with Lady GaGa for the campus rape documentary The Hunting Ground, says a similar thing happened to her way back in the 1970s!

She recalled in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:

“I was 18 or 19 years old, and I met with a producer. I was playing a song with my eyes closed, but when I opened them, he was jerking off. I just looked at him and said, ‘I guess you really like the song.'”

We love that she was able to keep her wit in such a horrifying situation! She said she “just left” after the incident; there was nothing to do about it back then.

Thankfully, she says, women are finally speaking out, and she thinks that trend is here to stay. Or as she so cleverly put it:

“You can’t put the genie back in the bottle. Or the dick back in the pants.”

Ha! Well said!
