Well, this is awkward.
David Cassidy purposely left his daughter, Katie Cassidy, out of his will.
According to The Partridge Family star’s last will and testament, Cassidy specifically stated that although he has two children, any references to his “child or children” are only to his son Beau.
The actor, who passed away last month after suffering from organ failure, made it clear that Katie was to receive zero benefits from his fortune, adding:
“It is my specific intent not to provide any benefits hereunder to Katherine Evelyn Cassidy and/or any descendent of Katherine Evelyn Cassidy.”
The documents, obtained by The Blast, go on to state that the 67-year-old’s approximate $150,000 in assets will all go to Beau. Cassidy’s three half-siblings will get anything that is considered “music memorabilia.”
The will, filed in 2004, originally named his then-wife Susan as the personal representative. Since the couple divorced in 2016, his cousin took over that role.
The 31-year-old actress was raised by her mother, former model Sherry Williams. David made no secret that he didn’t raise his daughter, telling People in 2009, “I didn’t have to parent her.”
At least Katie still has the memories — and a famous last name. What else does a girl need?
