The controversy surrounding Roman Polanski continues.
Allegedly, the incident happened after her mother disappeared from set, leaving the two of them alone. The model says the experience has caused her to have PTSD and claustrophobia issues.
Not only has Barnard filed an official report with the LAPD‘s sex crimes unit, she started a petition to have Roman removed from The Academy.
On Tuesday, according to TMZ, the filmmaker’s attorney Harlan Braun says the allegations are false, and they have hired their own private investigators to look into the case. Apparently, Marianne’s mother wouldn’t talk to the PIs, and they’ve handed over their findings to the LAPD.
Although the case falls outside the statute of limitations (meaning Polanski can’t be charged), authorities opened the investigation to potentially find evidence connected to other disputes.
In 1978, Polanski famously fled the United States after pleading guilty to statutory rape against then-13-year-old Samantha Geimer.
