Aaron Carter‘s resolutions may be very different from other 30-year-old’s!
The singer told Us Weekly how he’s been thinking about becoming a father, and has even given thought to adopting!
Despite a pretty rocky few months including an arrest, the passing of his dad, a breakup, and a positive stint in rehab, he explained:
“I was thinking about adopting. I want kids so bad. I turned 30 and I’m like, ├óΓé¼╦£Alright, my resolution is to have a kid.’ But not just a kid. A beautiful woman or man, because we can have kids too.”
The star continued:
“My goal is to be a father. I really want to be a dad and I want to transcend any of the shortcomings that my parents experienced growing up with us.”
Talking about his own big family, this Carter shared how badly he wants something similar for himself:
“We lost our sister Leslie, but we had a big family. So I’m 30 and my dad was popping out kids by the time he was 30 so I better hurry up! But I do really want to have kids.”
Still, he’s not about to have babies with just anyone, as he says “it has to be [with] the right person.”
“I do me, he does him. I love [Nick], but he can be a punk sometimes. But I will be in his corner no matter what. I love my brother and I really hope he’s just happy, healthy, doing the same thing and focusing on his career.”
And dished that when it comes down to it, they’re still family despite how competitive they are with each other:
“There’s Owen and Luke Wilson, the Baldwin brothers and there’s Nick and Aaron Carter. We have our times, but we’re brothers.”
Still, he says the two of them haven’t gotten on the phone with each other since his DUI, divulging:
“He started trying to lecture me and stuff like that. He’s not my parent.”
Guess Aaron really needs some different boundaries with the 37-year-old, especially as he’s starting to want to become a parent very soon!
