Morgan Spurlock is holding himself accountable for his past sexual misconduct.

In fact, in a very personal essay, the Super Size Me director admitted that he had once been accused of rape and acknowledged that he too was “part of the problem.” Whoa.

On Wednesday, the documentarian shared:

“As I sit around watching hero after hero, man after man, fall at the realization of their past indiscretions, I don’t sit by and wonder ├óΓé¼╦£Who will be next?’ I wonder, ├óΓé¼╦£When will they come for me?’ You see, I’ve come to understand after months of these revelations, that I am not some innocent bystander, I am also a part of the problem.”

Here’s where Spurlock got impressively candid, as he opened up about a “one night stand” he had in college, which ended with a sexual assault allegation. Morgan reflected:

“It’s time for me to be truthful… In my mind, we’d been drinking all night and went back to my room. We began fooling around, she pushed me off, then we laid in the bed and talked and laughed some more, and then began fooling around again. We took off our clothes. She said she didn’t want to have sex, so we laid together, and talked, and kissed, and laughed, and then we started having sex.”

The 47-year-old filmmaker went on to reveal that once the female began crying, the two stopped having sex. Spurlock thought he was doing the right thing when he tried to comfort her. The industry vet continued:

“I tried to comfort her. To make her feel better. I thought I was doing ok, I believed she was feeling better. She believed she was raped.”

While no formal charges or an investigation took place following the incident, the woman clearly felt violated as she went on to write a piece about it for a class. Morgan only realized his partner felt that she had been raped when a female friend informed him about the woman’s essay.

In his lengthy post, Morgan also admitted to cheating on “every wife and girlfriend [he’s] ever had” and discussed the sexual harassment allegation he settled with an ex-assistant. Although Spurlock had not conducted “a gropy feely harassment,” he realized his name calling caused the former employee to feel belittled in the work place.

He added:

“I would call my female assistant ├óΓé¼╦£hot pants’ or ├óΓé¼╦£sex pants’ when I was yelling to her from the other side of the office. Something I thought was funny at the time, but then realized I had completely demeaned and belittled her to a place of non-existence.”

How awful. Thankfully, Morgan is owning up to his bad behavior and promised to change for the better. Spurlock concluded:

“I am part of the problem. We all are. But I am also part of the solution. By recognizing and openly admitting what I’ve done to further this terrible situation, I hope to empower the change within myself. We should all find the courage to admit we’re at fault. More than anything, I’m hopeful that I can start to rebuild the trust and the respect of those I love most. I’m not sure I deserve it, but I will work every day to earn it back. I will do better. I will be better. I believe we all can.”
