Russell Simmons speaks out!

Russell Simmons is coming out hard to deny the sexual misconduct allegations against him!

In case you missed it, nine new women came forward in new articles from the New York Times and Los Angeles Times with claims of sexual harassment or assault in regards to the entrepreneur, with three claiming rape.

On Thursday though, the 60-year-old came forward to defend himself against the claims, taking to Instagram with a picture of the hashtag #NotMe to post about his “innocence”:

“Today, I begin to properly defend myself. I will prove without any doubt that I am innocent of all rape charges. Today, I will focus on “The Original Sin” (Keri Claussen), the claim that created this insane pile on of my #MeToo. Stay tuned! We’ll share evidence today… And tomorrow the case of Jenny Lumet. My intention is not to diminish the #MeToo movement in anyway, but instead hold my accusers accountable. #NotMe Again, this is not a movement against or even in conjunction with #Metoo . It’s just a statement about my innocence.”

Keri Claussen alleged she was assaulted by the Def Jam founder in 1991, adding he even apologized to her for it. Russell denies this.

It seems like we’ll be hearing more from him today as he claims he can “prove” he is “innocent of all rape charges”!

In the meantime, the celeb has denied his newest allegations, as we previously reported:

“I vehemently deny all these allegations. These horrific accusations have shocked me to my core and all of my relations have been consensual.”
