Meghan Markle is bonding with ALL of the Windsors.
As we previously reported, Prince Harry and his fiancée are expected to stay with Prince William and Kate Middleton at Anmer Hall over the holidays. This will make it so the engaged couple can spend some quality time with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as, enjoy the holiday festivities that Queen Elizabeth is hosting at her Sandringham estate.
The Suits actress and the ginger royal are also expected to attend Wednesday’s pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace. This luncheon allows for the Queen to visit with extended family members who ARE NOT invited to her Norfolk estate.
Meghan is certainly transitioning into her role as a royal quite well. In fact, last week, Miz Markle joined Harry at Windsor Castle (AKA their wedding venue) for the staff’s holiday party. Many of the royal fam’s employees were DELIGHTED to meet the American divorc├â┬⌐e.
The fact that Markle has been invited to all of these official functions is HUGE, as it breaks from the Queen’s rule about family gatherings. Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams recently explained to Entertainment Tonight:
“Firstly, it’s important to stress that this is a completely new departure from Christmas with reference to the royal family. Normally, the protocol is pretty strict. In the past, when Kate Middleton was engaged to William and also when Mike Tindall was engaged to Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Phillips, they didn’t, as [an] unmarried [couple], spend Christmas with the Queen.”
Well, well. He continued:
“Obviously Meghan’s parents are in the United States, but the main reason [Markle is invited] is clearly that it’s what Harry wished. But I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it wasn’t the queen’s idea, simply because, it’s so important to make a new member and a future senior member of the royal family feel welcome, feel at home, and Christmas is the perfect time to do it.”
Looks like the Queen has a new favorite — and we’re SO about it.
