An indie movie about women’s street basketball is on the way from a fresh new female filmmaker.
Nah, just kidding, it’s being made by Nick Cannon!
The America’s Got Talent host will write, direct, and star in Ball Up, alongside Cedric The Entertainer, Evan Ross, and Rebecca DeMornay. Oh, and Chris Brown.
Yeah. The convicted domestic abuser is going to costar in an “uplifting” film about female empowerment. Cannon told Variety:
“I’m very excited for this film. It’s something powerful for the culture, uplifting for the community, and the film’s main objective is to empower women!”
Wow. Just no self-awareness at all.
The film will also include appearances by real basketball players from the WNBA, Ball Up, and the Basketball Beauties League.
The ones who don’t object to Chris Brown we guess.
