Sounds like Meghan Markle‘s first Christmas with the royals was a successful one!
On Wednesday, while guest editing for BBC Radio 4‘s Today, Prince Harry spilled a few deets about his and Meghan’s first holiday as an engaged couple. As we previously reported, the Suits actress joined her princely fianc├â┬⌐ for his family’s annual Christmas trip to Sandringham House.
And, although Markle is the first royal fiancée to celebrate the holiday with the Windsors, the royal fam welcomed the American divorcée with open arms. On their Christmas celebration together, Harry dished:
“It was fantastic. She really enjoyed it. The family loved having her there.”
Awwwww. This is WONDERFUL to hear, especially since Christmas is a working holiday for the royals.
After joining Harry and his relatives at Buckingham Palace for pre-Christmas lunch, Meghan headed down to the Queen’s private home in Norfolk. On Christmas Day, Meghan joined the Queen and her brood for public appearances — including a church service at Church of St. Mary Magdalene.
“[With] the family part of Christmas, there’s always that work element as well and I think together, we had an amazing time, we had great fun staying with my brother and sister-in-law and running around with the kids.”
Understandably, the 33-year-old was forced to explain “plenty” of his family’s traditions to his future bride. Prince William‘s brother added:
“I think we’ve got one of the biggest families that I know of and every family is complex as well. She’s done an absolutely amazing job, she’s getting in there and it’s the family that I suppose she never had.”
Wow, okay. Way to make us cry, Harry!
We’re SO thrilled that Meghan is transitioning into royal life so well. Squee!!
