Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Aren’t A ~Regular~ Royal Couple, They’re A Cool Royal Couple!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are doing their royal engagement their way!

It’s no secret the longtime bachelor and the Suits actress don’t have the most traditional relationship — but that’s why they’re so fun to watch!

Here are just a few examples of how the engaged duo are making their own rules when it comes to royal nuptials (below)!

— Per Harry’s request, Queen Elizabeth II granted permission for the 36-year-old actress to attend Christmas at Sandringham House. For those of you paying attention, Kate Middleton didn’t even do this until after she was married to Prince William. But a source noted to Us Weekly:

“Given that Meghan doesn’t have family in the U.K., it’s only right.”

— Although royal biographer Ingrid Seward says “there is no protocol” when it comes to PDA, we almost never see William and Kate nuzzle up like Harry and Meghan do. We mean, these two held hands AND kissed at the September Invictus Games in Toronto! Gasp!

— Meghan’s style is very different from the women before her. For instance, she wore a dress with a sheer top for engagement portraits and stepped out without panty hose on November 27. A palace insider said of her decision to bare her legs:

“Pretty much all of the royal women since as far back as I can remember [have worn them], but there isn’t actually a rule.”

— Harry and Meg’s wedding ceremony will take place at St. George’s Chapel, which is way more low-key than William and Kate’s big day at Westminster Abbey. An insider said:

“The last thing Harry wants is pomp and pageantry.”

Not to mention, the actress will have a “maid of honor” instead of the traditional “chief of bridesmaids,” and will potentially have her mother walk her down the aisle:

“Don’t expect a royal wedding by numbers. For them, it’s about keeping it personal.”

Do you, bbs!
