Shock value sells, morality doesn’t.

As we reported, YouTube star Logan Paul faced extreme backlash after he posted (and then deleted) a video of him apparently finding a dead body while traveling through Aokigahara, also known as the Japanese Suicide Forest.

The social media star has apologized numerous times, and has not released a new vlog since Tuesday as he is “taking time to reflect.”

While many assumed the controversy would have a negative impact on the 22-year-old’s subscriber count, the opposite actually happened.

According to data from VidStatsX, while Paul’s subscriber growth declined on the day he made headlines (17,111), it jumped up to a whopping 81,114 the following day on January 3.

Overall, he has made approximately 100,000 new followers since posting the contentious clip.

Aside from the aforementioned video, Paul’s other vlogs from Japan are receiving even more social media outrage.

On Friday, YouTuber website We The Unicorns posted a compilation video where Paul acts racially insensitive toward Japanese citizens, despite making a promise to not “disrespect the culture.”

The clip even received attention from Twitter favorite Chrissy Teigen, who on Tuesday questioned the Internet’s attempt to “end” Paul’s career.

If you let Chrissy down, you’ve let ALL of us down!
