Freudian Slip? Donald Trump Calls His Presidency ‘Consensual’ After Misquoting Columnist!

no title

No surprise here — “stable genius” Donald Trump still doesn’t understand the meaning of the word “consensual”!

The President was very excited to share a (vaguely) positive review from conservative columnist Michael Goodwin over the weekend — so excited, he forgot to proofread it!

And because the Twitter gods have a sense of humor, the excerpt Trump posted on included a rather hilarious misquote, one that painfully reminds us that his presidency is one the majority of Americans did not consent to.

In the now-deleted tweet, the Big Cheeto attempted to quote Goodwin describing his “enormously consequential presidency,” except he wrote:

“‘His is turning out to be an enormously consensual presidency. So much so that … there has never been a day that I wished Hillary Clinton were President. Not one. Indeed, as Trump’s accomplishments accumulate, the mere thought of Clinton in the W.H., doubling down on Obama’s … failed policies, washes away any doubts that America made the right choice. This was truly a change election, and the changes Trump is bringing are far-reaching and necessary.’ Thank you Michael Goodwin! (Please read entire column) [email protected]

Yup, that’s our POTUS! Misquoting articles AND sharing the New York Post writer’s full email address!

Never one to give up a good boasting opportunity, Trump tried again, this time replacing “consensual” with the appropriate adjective — along with the columnist’s reference to his “missteps”:

LOL, sounds even worse the second time, huh Donny?

The gaffe did not go unnoticed by social media. Users reminded Trump they had never “consented” to his leadership, while others responded with #StableGenius hashtags in reference to Trump’s he-doth-protest-too-much tweets professing his sanity this weekend.
