Rachel Dolezal wants to cash in on that racial controversy, too!
The woman who attempted to blur the lines in racial identity is now selling “protest” hoodies to counter H&M‘s “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle” hoodie that went viral for the wrong reasons.
That’s right, Dolezal is once again trying to profit off of black pain — specifically, her son’s!
Because her own son was called a monkey in school, the former NAACP chapter president thought the hoodie could use some positive re-imagining… though many felt Dolezal’s upgraded graphic was just as tone-deaf as the original.
Dolezal promoted the “protest” hoodie on her Instagram page, sharing a picture of a green hoodie that looks similar to H&M’s widely-criticized version. But instead of “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle,” an ugly font reads, “Coolest Prince in the Hood”:
Sure, she could’ve went with “Coolest Prince on the Block” or “Coolest Prince in the Kingdom” — but no, she thought “Hood” was be the best option to counter racial insensitivity.
After commenters voiced outrage over her choice of words, Dolezal changed it up to a less stereotypical phrase that read, “Coolest Prince on the Planet”:
Final version. (World just sounded kind of corny, so I changed it to Planet)… Sent to printer’s. Facts: 1) Printed at local woman-of-color-owned shop. 2) Pre-order price is $1 less than cost. 3) I’m doing this for the Cause, so if you don’t like it then do your own thing (& let me know what you’re doing so I can support!) Even with less offensive wording, commenters failed to see how a shitty sweatshirt would benefit the greater community — especially when Dolezal made it clear on her website that profits wouldn’t be going to a worthy cause (like the NAACP), but “directly to providing for the 3 coolest princes in my household (my 3 black sons).”
At least she’s upfront about it?
Needless to say, Twitter was not here for the clueless “protest” merch that no one asked for — see some funny reactions (below).
I feel like Rachel Dolezal is a government experiment to make us all go mad. Combined with Cheeto Satan, it might just work.

Rachel Dolezal equates everything black to a stereotype. She always has. That’s why I don’t rock with her. She dressed up in a black disguise to make a mockery of black ppl. https://t.co/tjJFTVpx87

H&M: “Nobody could ever offend black ppl more than us!”
Oh it’s #RachelDolezal to the rescue!
Let├óΓé¼Γäós not call our beautiful black princes “Jungle Monkeys”, let├óΓé¼Γäós call them “Hoodlums” instead! There, that feels so much better!
Oof. Sit down, Rachel, you’re done here.
