Here’s Why James Franco Skipped Out On The Critics’ Choice Awards!

James Franco

James Franco wasn’t facing the music, er, Critics’ Choice Awards.

As we reported, the 39-year-old has come under fire by five women who have spoken to The Los Angeles Times alleging the actor previously engaged in inappropriate or exploitative behavior while on set or in acting classes.

As a result, he did not attend Thursday night’s festivities in the Santa Monica Airport hangar, where he ended up winning the Best Actor in a Comedy honor for his role in The Disaster Artist.

Apparently, he’s so torn up about the accusations (which he says are “not accurate”) that he has even changed his phone number. A source told People:

“He’s in a really bad place, so bad that he changed his phone number. His close friends are trying to be there for him but it’s been hard ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ he’s only talking to a select group of people. For now, he’s just hiding out.”

This is very different behavior than the guy who was surfing all the late night TV couches this past week addressing his position on the #MeToo movement.

ICYMI, his general position was that he’d rather take the bullet than undermine the women coming forward.
