A South Carolina middle school teacher was arrested last Tuesday after a student’s father told authorities he believed the 27-year-old was engaged in an inappropriate relationship with his 12-year-old daughter.

Allison Leigh Chilton (above) is accused of kissing, fondling, and sending sexually charged text messages to the then-seventh grade girl over the course of their relationship, which lasted from August to December 2017.

The girl’s father told police he believed the relationship started when Chilton, the special education teacher and basketball coach at Oakbrook Middle School, was his daughter’s teacher, though he didn’t have proof until recently.

According to a police report, the father found texts from Chilton on his daughter’s phone — including messages from that read “I want to be your wife” and “I just want to hold you.”

The report alleged that the victim would spend time alone with Chilton in the classroom during recess, where she was supposedly getting extra help with homework.

Chilton reportedly admitted to kissing the girl when questioned by investigators. She has been charged with criminal solicitation of a minor and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

The teacher was fired from her position at Oakbrook on Thursday. The state Board of Education is also working to suspend her teaching certificate.

She has posted $30K bail.
