Everyone is to blame after one of the hosts of Texas Flip N Move used an anti-semitic slur while filming her show — and the DIY Network aired it!
In the season finale, titled “Snow Sisters’ School Bus Flip,” the hosts were selling a renovated bus. When the buyer agreed to their first price, Toni Snow (above, left) said:
“You’re not even gonna bicker a little bit, Jew us down?”
In a statement to The New York Post, the network apologized for airing the comment, saying:
“On a recent episode of Texas Flip N Move, an inappropriate comment, unfortunately, made it past our team. We were made aware of the issue shortly after it aired, and immediately pulled the episode to edit it for future broadcast. We apologize unreservedly for any offense caused.”
It’s worth noting, they mention their “team” falling asleep on the job. But this wasn’t live TV.
The episode, which aired January 12 (yes, all the way last week and it’s just being talked about now — but you have to admit Texas Flip N Move is hardly appointment television), was a fully produced package.
This is the fault of DIY letting it “past” them, show producers who apparently didn’t see anything wrong with the language, editors who left it in the episode, and Toni’s sister Donna (above, right) who is visibly unfazed by the phrase on film — in addition to the woman herself.
So far the Snow sisters have not publicly commented.
