According to TMZ sources, the Swish Swish singer is “almost always” late for the tapings of the audition rounds. In fact, insiders close to production claim Katy regularly shows up anywhere between 10 to 25 minutes after call time. Tsk, tsk!
While the show’s producers have been annoyed with the hitmaker’s tardiness (probably because they shelled out $25 million for her to be there), it’s said fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan aren’t bothered by it. Well that’s good to hear.
Although the three judges have really good on camera chemistry, reports indicate that the old Idol magic has yet to be revived. Specifically, there isn’t any comedic tension for the showrunners to play off of. Remember how Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul would be at each other’s throats? Or the way Adam Levine and Blake Shelton roast each other on The Voice??
Apparently, there isn’t any of that — so things are kind of falling flat. And, as no bad auditions will be aired, we’re kind of wondering what we’ll actually be tuning in to?
Regardless, tipsters have spilled that Katy is the fun one, Lionel has a serious POV, and Luke is just pure country. Hopefully, this dynamic is enough to make the show interesting!!
