Like most millenials, Harley Barber was under the impression she could post anything on her Finstagram (Fake Instagram) page without getting in trouble. Like, for instance, using the n-word as much as she wanted.
Well, it turns out there ARE repercussions for being an insufferable racist after all! The former University of Alabama sorority girl was kicked out of her college AND sorority after posting inflammatory, n-word-filled Instagram videos.
The 19-year-old New Jersey native was expelled after two vids from her “finsta” page — where she goes by the pseudonym “Spooky Slut” — were publicly shared to Twitter.
The first of which showed Barber turning off a running faucet, saying “We don’t waste water because of people in Syria.”
She then says:
“I love how I act like I love black people because I fucking hate n******, so that’s really interesting. I fucking hate n******, but I just saved the fucking n****** by shutting that water off.”
If that wasn’t embarrassing enough, she capped it off by singing:
“Jump on it. Jump on this. Jump on this├óΓé¼┬ª Imma probably jump on your man with my├óΓé¼┬ª”
It’s safe to assume she wasn’t about to say “intelligence.”
Someone with access to Barber’s finsta likely told her Alpha Phi sorority that she was a tad racist, because the following video was a 56-second tirade in which she yelled about someone trying to “snake” on her.
Barber also pointed out that since she’s from New Jersey and now lives down South, she can say the n-word as much as she wants — even on Martin Luther King day! She cried:
“I’ve wanted to be an Alpha Phi since I was fucking in high school and nobody fucking understands how much I love Alpha Phi. And now someone wants to say I’m offensive because I said ├óΓé¼╦£n*****’? You know what? N*****, n*****, n*****. I don’t care if it’s Martin Luther King Day. N*****, n*****, n*****. I’m in the South now, bitch. So everyone can fuck off. I’m from New Jersey, so I can say ├óΓé¼╦£n*****’ as much as I want. N*****, n*****, n*****. And if anyone else wants to fucking snake me on my fucking Finsta for saying n*****?”
The second rant was cheered on by a crowd of seemingly drunken sorority girls, though at least one sister can be heard telling Barber not to post the video. If only she listened…
After the university was tagged in a tweet, it responded with a statement of its own condemning Barber’s “ignorant and disturbing” rant. Once the video went viral, Barber was expelled from the school and kicked out of Alpha Phi’s “diverse” sorority — effectively crushing her high school dreams of being a racist, southern sorority girl.
Now heading back to her home in New Jersey, Barber admitted she was an “idiot” for spewing out such hateful, racist garbage. In an interview with the New York Post, she said:
“I feel horrible. I feel so, so bad and I am so sorry├óΓé¼┬ª I did something really, really bad. I don’t know what to do and I feel horrible. I’m wrong and there’s just no excuse for what I did.”
When the publication asked Barber if she ever considered listening to the friend who told her not to post the video, she confessed:
“No, I’m an idiot. There’s no excuse. I did something really bad.”
Oh, good. She’s self aware — like most of the other racists coming out of the woodwork in Donald Trump‘s America.
Good luck interviewing for jobs, Harley.
