Man, oh man.
On Thursday, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested rapper Kodak Black (whose real name is Dieuson Octave). The 20-year-old artist was hit with a slew of charges — including grand theft of a firearm, possession of marijuana, child neglect, two counts of possession of a weapon by a felon, and two counts of probation violation.
It seems Octave tried to document his arrest as an alleged Instagram live story belonging to the Roll In Peace performer has since gone viral. Amid (what appears to be) a police raid, Kodak is heard debating whether or not he can keep his phone. An official is overheard saying:
“Your phone is part of this search warrant. You are not going to get your phone back.”
As of Friday morning, Dieuson was being held at the Broward County Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale. We can’t say this legal drama is very promising for the Florida native as he’s already had several run ins with the law.
Back in 2015, Octave was booked in Pompano Beach on charges of robbery, battery, two counts of false imprisonment of a child, three counts of false imprisonment of an adult, driving with a suspended license, and possession of marijuana. Yikes.
The rapper was then arrested TWICE in Broward County in 2016. His April arrest once again had him hit with drugs and weapons charges, as well as a charged for fleeing from police officers. Kodak Black was arrested in August for armed robbery and false imprisonment.
After all of this, Octave was sentenced to house arrest and five years probation. He was also ordered to attended anger management classes and community service. In February, he broke his house arrest and was sentenced to 364 days in jail.
Kodak was granted an early release in June after serving only 97 days. During this most recent arrest, the trap music maker was in the middle of serving another house arrest stint.
We have a feeling Octave is prison bound if any of these troubling charges stick. Oof.
