What a tough situation for Alison Brie.
On Sunday, the GLOW actress hit the SAG Awards red carpet as she was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series. However, as brother-in-law James Franco has recently been accused of sexual misconduct by several women, Brie was inundated with questions about the controversy.
Thankfully, Alison didn’t dodge the question as she addressed the alleged misconduct with Giuliana Rancic. The 35-year-old shared:
“I think that above all, what we’ve always said is it remains vital that anyone that feels victimized should and does have the right to speak out and come forward. I obviously support my family. Not everything that has been reported is fully accurate, so I think we’re waiting to get all the information. But of course now is the time for listening and that’s what we’re all trying to do.”

Clearly, Alison doesn’t want to victim blame, but also doesn’t want to abandon her family ties during this drama. Again, what a tough situation to be stuck in!! Twitter has since praised Alison for her VERY diplomatic response:
Alison Brie was so well prepared for E!’s James Franco question. It’s almost like they had a family meeting about how horrible this red carpet was gonna be for them and she volunteered as tribute.

On the #SAGAwards red carpet, Alison Brie, who looked amazing, by the way, gave a VERY diplomatic answer to Giuliana when she asked about the allegations against her BIL James Franco

So James Franco went to SAGs and got clapped, but the only news I’m seeing about him is his sister in law, Alison Brie, an actress who deserved a platform to talk about her own work, getting asked about him? Because she’s the one who is supposed to be asked for some reason.

The Community vet then pivoted the conversation to discuss GLOW.
On why she chose to do the wrestling project, she revealed that the comedy was “everything [she] was looking for as an actor.” Not to mention, learning to wrestle empowered Alison quite a bit.
“I do feel like I carry that confidence everywhere I go now.”
What do YOU think?? Were you a fan of Alison’s answer??
