Rose McGowan continues to speak her truth.
Sitting down for a 90-minute interview with Ronan Farrow in front of a packed audience at New York City’s 92Y, the Charmed actress revealed she had been assaulted by a “prominent” man in Hollywood long before Harvey Weinstein allegedly raped her in his hotel room.
The 44-year-old actress said that she was just 15 when the “very famous” man took advantage of her before leaving her on a street corner.
She explained to Woody Allen‘s son:
“This man picked me up when I was 15 years old. He took me home after he met me and he showed me a soft porn movie he had made for Showtime, under a different name. And then he had sex with me … In my mind, playing it back, I had been attracted to him, so I always filed it away as a sexual experience. I don’t have a normal trajectory, I don’t know if you do either.”
When Farrow asked if Rose was ready to expose the name of the predator, she replied that it’s a “timing thing”:
“In general? Sure. Right now at this moment? I’ve had a big day.”
McGowan also explained that she actually hadn’t realized that she had been molested until two weeks after Farrow’s story first broke about Weinstein:
“That creep did this to a 15-year-old. It was not until two weeks after your story broke ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ our story, our world’s story ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ that I was in bed and I started saying, ‘Oh my god. I think that’s molestation.'”
