Move Over, Logan Paul! YouTube’s Kian Lawley FIRED From Flick Over Racist Video!

kian lawley fired racist video resurfaces

Logan Paul isn’t the only YouTube star to cause controversy this year.

It may be only February, but we already have ANOTHER scandal involving an internet celeb to dish about. On Monday, it was revealed that Kian Lawley has been fired by Twentieth Century Fox from the upcoming flick, The Hate U Give. Apparently, the studio now plans to recast the part, as a controversial video belonging to Lawley has resurfaced.

Video: Logan Returns To His YouTube Routine After Scandal

Specifically, Twentieth Century Fox is distancing itself from Kian as the YouTuber’s past upload featured racist comments. In fact, in the footage, Lawley is heard using the N-word and other racial slurs. You can get a peek at his unsavory behavior for yourself (below):

SMH. No wonder a spokesperson for Twentieth Century Fox Films told Variety:

“Due to the controversy surrounding his past comments and behavior, Kian Lawley will no longer appear in ├óΓé¼╦£The Hate U Give.’ The studio plans to recast the role of Chris and reshoot scenes as needed.”

Smart move, especially since the movie is about race and police brutality. The 22-year-old star has already offered up two responses to the scandal. First, over the weekend, Kian took to Twitter and shared:

Yeah, we just wish he hadn’t used racist language to begin with. He then formally apologized via a statement:

“Words have power and can do damage. I own mine and I am sorry. I respect Fox’s decision to recast this role for The Hate U Give as it is an important story, and it would not be appropriate for me to be involved considering the actions of my past. I understand the impact and I have grown and learned since then. From now on I plan to use my voice for positive change.”

We’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for any casting updates. Be sure to ch-ch-check back!!
