Get excited, Spice Girls fans!
According to TMZ, the beloved girl group ARE reuniting for a tour that will take them to the United States AND the United Kingdom. EEK!
We had a feeling this news was coming as Posh (Victoria Beckham), Scary (Mel B), Ginger (Geri Halliwell), Baby (Emma Bunton), and Sporty (Melanie C) all recently reunited for a meeting with former manager Simon Fuller. While it was initially reported that the girls got together to discuss a potential TV project, it seems they also decided on a reunion tour.
Per the report, the meet up was for “rough planning” regarding the tour, which will be a global venture starting in late summer. SO SOON!! We’re dead.
Reportedly, the women plan to hit the U.K. first and then take their tour overseas to the U.S. Sadly, there will be no new music to accompany the tour. Oh, and they have ZERO plans to do a Las Vegas residency. *Sigh*
Apparently, MOST of the ladies have wanted to do this reunion for a while *cough* R.I.P., GEM *cough*, but Beckham was the last hold out. Regardless, it’s said she’s “fully on board” now.
And it’ll be just like the good old days as Fuller is to manage the ladies while they’re on the road. Despite having made a BUTTLOAD of money thanks to the Idol franchise, Simon still has lots of love for the girl band. Not to mention, there’s said to be “merchandising opportunities” connected with the tour — so we’re sure the money’s good.
We’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for any updates as the tour is still in the early stages!
