As we reported, the 61-year-old BLASTED Sarah Jessica Parker over the weekend for publicly sharing her condolences, then proceeding to talk about it to multiple outlets, following the sudden death of Cattrall’s brother.
Cattrall rejected SJP’s message and accused her of “exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”
But the Mannequin star responded quite differently to Cynthia Nixon‘s well wishes!
Beneath her original post thanking fans, friends, and SATC colleagues (except for you-know-who), Cattrall wrote:
“Cynthia, hearing your voice meant so much to me. Thank you for reaching out. Love Kim #SexandtheCity.”
Ouch. Feel the burn, Parker!
Like SJP, Cynthia had publicly commented on Kim’s post, saying:
“Hey Kim such awful news. So sorry to hear. Sending you love. XO.”
But based on Kim’s reply, it sounds like Nixon may have also personally called Cattrall instead of just posting her condolences for everyone to see a la SJP.
As it turns out, a lack of phone calls is something Cattrall previously admitted bugged her about the fakeness of the cast. When addressing rumors that she was holding up Sex and the City 3 in an interview last year, Cattrall noted:
“Another thing that’s really disappointing is that nobody ever picks up the phone and tries to contact you and say, ‘how are you doing?’ That would have been the way to handle it.”
What’s the moral of the story here?
*Carrie Bradshaw narration* “Real friends call. Realer friends call it like they see it. But only the realest friends call attention to the fact that├óΓé¼┬ª maybe we were never real friends to begin with.” *Takes long, dramatic drag of cigarette*
We don’t think SJP was trying to exploit anything here, but if she truly wants to mend things with KC, she knows what she has to do. (Pick up the phone, girl!)
