How Cardi B’s Rumored Pregnancy Might Affect Her Career — And Why It├óΓé¼Γäós Not An Issue!

We wouldn’t be having this conversation if Cardi B were a man. Just saying.

Women are perpetually pressured to choose between having a career or having children, and it’s not okay.

A new report from TMZ outlines all the business opportunities the Bodak Yellow rapper would be risking if the 25-year-old were pregnant. Which, by the way, has not been confirmed with Cardi herself saying the rumors of her being three to four months along are false.

When will we start believing women for what they say? We blame Victoria Beckham‘s denial of a Spice Girls reunion tour!! JK!

It’s no secret Cardi is having a MOMENT in the sun right now. She has upcoming tour appearances alongside Bruno Mars, a set at Coachella, commercial deals, collaboration offers, and is even said to be filming a movie in the next month. She’s also making around $100K a concert and $60K for nightclub appearances.

If it were fianc├â┬⌐ Offset who was carrying the unconfirmed/potentially nonexistent child, no one would be outlining all the money he’s giving up.

And as we learned from Queen Beyoncé, concerts can be rescheduled, money can still be made. Why are we talking like Cardi having a human child is the end of her career?

Moral of the story here is that Cardi B is going to be just fine whether she’s pregnant or not — and we shouldn’t continue to shame women into thinking they can’t have it all. Whatever that looks like for them.
