Kanye West Settles Lawsuit Against Insurers Over Canceled Saint Pablo Tour!

kanye west settles insurance lawsuit

Good news for Kanye West!

The Famous rapper has finally gotten a settlement from insurers who were dragging their feet over writing a check. In fact, the whole thing is about to go away, as West’s company and Lloyd’s of London filed a joint stipulation asking the California federal court to dismiss the case.

As you likely know, back in August, Yeezus hit Lloyd’s of London with a $10 million lawsuit, where he accused the company of not paying claims after canceling his 2016 Saint Pablo tour.

In case you forgot, West had to cancel the remainder of his tour as he suffered a mental breakdown. Although ‘Ye provided sworn testimony from his primary physician and filed the claim two days after checking himself into a psychiatric center, the insurers demanded to depose those in the hitmaker’s entourage.

Per West’s filing, as well as a countersuit by Lloyd’s of London, the insurers were concerned about drug use on the 40-year-old’s part. Apparently, the insurance policy had certain exclusions listed — including preexisting psychological conditions, possession of illegal drugs, the abuse of prescription medication and/or alcohol.

Damn. Thankfully, this drama is all over as the parties have agreed upon an undisclosed financial settlement.

While TMZ stated West received most of what was due to him, his attorney Howard King simply confirmed that “the dispute has been amicably resolved.”
