Jennifer Lawrence is no Harvey Weinstein apologist — and don’t you forget it!!
As you may’ve seen, in an attempt to dismiss a class action lawsuit filed by many women who dealt with the controversial film mogul, Weinstein recently filed legal documents where he referenced J.Law as a character witness.
Specifically, Harvey claimed that the Oscar winner spoke “glowingly” about him and added that she said he had “only ever been nice to [her].” Like Meryl Streep, Miz Lawrence wants Weinstein to keep her name out of his mouth, especially when it comes to his misconduct scandal.
Although the Red Sparrow actress wasn’t one of his victims, she is in no way defending his behavior. In a statement to TMZ, Jennifer noted:
“Harvey Weinstein and his company are continuing to do what they have always done which is to take things out of context and use them for their own benefit. This is what predators do, and it must stop.”
Snap! Snap! She continued:
“For the record, while I was not victimized personally by Harvey Weinstein, I stand behind the women who have survived his terrible abuse and I applaud them in using all means necessary to bring him to justice whether through criminal or civil actions. Time’s up.”
You tell ’em, Jennifer!! Clearly, Harvey is grasping at straws to defend his already tarnished name.
