After all, it was his job to speak to a great many people wearing Time’s Up pins…
Ryan on the other hand was outside his comfort zone. A source told Us Weekly:
“Ryan was uncomfortable with all the attention. He just wanted to do his job, but he was uncomfortable with the spotlight and being scrutinized.”
How was it different for him?
People staring? All the Twitter jabs? Or maybe he was just feeling self-conscious..?
As for E!, a source told People the network didn’t see a problem.
“They are happy with the interviews that they got and the folks that stopped and talked to Ryan. They’re happy with how it went and with who they were able to talk with. They had a wide-ranging group of talent, nominees and otherwise.”
Apart from Taraji, Seacrest also spoke with Whoopi Goldberg, Tiffany Haddish, and supporting acting nominees Allison Janney, Christopher Plummer, and Mary J. Blige — who even complimented Ryan on his new role on Live With Kelly & Ryan. Another source told Us:
“[That] just made everyone on the team beam with pride. Ryan will never forget what Mary did in that moment.”
If you’re getting misty over a moment of red carpet politesse that should be de rigueur, that’s not a good sign in itself.
Did YOU think Ryan seemed awkward out there??
