Despite having first proposed to Becca Kufrin, Arie Luyendyk Jr. is confident that he’s made the right choice in second fianc├â┬⌐e Lauren Burnham.
In case you missed it, the race car driver turned real estate agent dumped Lauren and asked Becca to marry him in The Bachelor finale. However, after some time, Luyendyk Jr. realized he made a mistake and ran back into the blonde stunner’s (very open) arms. The twosome proceeded to get engaged during the tense After The Final Rose special.
And it seems they are already eyeing the wedding altar. After getting down on one knee, Arie told People:
“We’re so ready for this. Lauren told me I’m four months late on this proposal, and I wanted to give it to her and I wanted everyone at home to share in it.”
We really wish you didn’t, but, whatever. As for Miz Burnham, she said she “had an inkling” that Arie would pop the question during the live reunion taping. The 26-year-old gleefully shared:
“Arie’s not good at keeping secrets. He didn’t tell me, but he gave me hints!”
In regards to the shade Arie and ABC have received for the way the dumping was handled, it seems that Lauren is standing by her man AND the network. She added:
“We don’t really care what anyone else has to say about it.”
In fact, Lauren and Arie are already too busy planning their upcoming nuptials, which they say will take place THIS YEAR. Well, that’s fast. Oh, and apparently, they’ve already considered a televised ceremony. Ugh.
On their future wedding, the 36-year-old spilled:
“We’ve already been planning it, even before the engagement. We want to do it quickly!”
You really think that’s a wise idea, bud?? You rushed into your first engagement — and you saw how that turned out…
Regardless, the season 22 lead is totally at peace with how things worked out:
“Love is not always perfect. Everyone finds each other in a different way. It’s not always a fairy tale, but as long as Lauren and I have each other, we’re happy.”
Huh. We guess, live your best lives, you two!
