No one can blame a woman for losing it when she catches her man cheating.
But Emily Javier went too far.
The 30-year-old Camas, Washington native was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning after calling police to tell them she had just stabbed her boyfriend to death with a samurai sword.
The Columbian reports cops arrived to find 29-year-old Alex Lovell still alive but with many severe lacerations — in a bedroom covered in blood.
Emily confessed to police, telling them they had been living together for two years when she found evidence he had cheated.
First, she saw strange scratches on his back. Then she found a red hair in the shower drain — her hair is dyed green. And then the nail: she found he had installed Tinder on his phone.
This may have been a last straw situation; according to the affidavit, Javier also told police Lovell “just sits at home all day playing video games and does not do anything to help.”
A GoFundMe set up to pay for Lovell’s medical bills refers to him as “an active member of the competitive “Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds” video game community.”
The craziest part of all this? It wasn’t in the heat of the moment.
Javier told police not only did she harbor this plan for days — she bought the sword at the mall with the intent of killing her man.
She didn’t already own a sword, she didn’t reach for the closest thing; she had her choice of weapons and thought: “samurai sword.”
Emily explained how she taped the sword and two knives to the bottom of the bed on her side, so she could be ready.
When he fell asleep that night, she used the light from her phone and just started swinging. She told police:
“I was trying to kill him for cheating. That was my purpose.”
Javier’s bail was reportedly set at $350,000.
Ladies, please — just leave.
No cheater is worth having murder on your soul. No man is worth going to prison your whole life.
