We continue to learn more about Yann Arnaud, the Cirque du Soleil performer who died this weekend after sustaining massive injuries in a fall during one of the show’s VOLTA acts in Tampa, Florida on Saturday night.

Arnaud’s Instagram has become a telling source of his passions, his love of life, and the love he had for his young family — but it’s also the place where he recently hinted at a new, difficult stunt that he was adding to his act.

As it turned out, this apparently was the stunt that led to the married father’s death, too. So, so sad…

Two days, ago, Arnaud and a fellow aerialist both posted photos with captions on their Instagram accounts describing how “after a long road” they were prepared to “perform tonight a straps act” that had been difficult to learn.

Here’s the post Arnaud put up just hours before the accident that would end up causing his death (below):

And, the one from his fellow aerialist which also describes the straps act preparation as “a long road” (below):

So chilling… and so sad.

Our thoughts continue to be with Arnaud, and his young family left behind (below):

Our hearts break.

Rest in peace, Yann.
