Russian Model Arrested After Jumping From The Sixth Floor Of A Hotel To Escape Alleged Rapist

russian woman detained after escaping rapist

This is seriously concerning.

According to recent reports, a Russian model is “in custody” in Dubai after she leapt from a hotel’s sixth floor to escape a man who was allegedly trying to rape and kill her. What the heck??

The 22-year-old alleged victim, named Ekaterina Stetsyuk, found herself with a broken spine after she miraculously survived a fall which occurred after she turned down sex with a “foreign man.” Per the Daily Mirror, Ekaterina’s mother Inge says her daughter was threatened by an American businessman, who put a knife to Stetsyuk’s throat.

Close friend Irina Grossman shared:

“To save her life and dignity, she jumped from the sixth floor. She survived by a miracle. Her spine is broken, several vertebras [sic] were crushed. She cannot walk or move by herself, but doctors are giving good forecasts because her spinal chord is intact.”

However, Ekaterina is now the one in custody, as her supposed attacker made a counter claim. Apparently, he told the police that Stetsyuk attacked him and he was forced to defend himself. While the brunette model isn’t imprisoned, she is “in custody” in her hospital bed.

At first, despite having several crushed vertebrae, Ekaterina seemed in good spirits. In a video from her hospital bed, she told loved ones:

“I am doing well, do not worry about me. People from the (Russian) consulate visited… My surgery was postponed. We’ll see how it goes. All will be fine, do not worry. (Friend’s name) has come to see me, all ok. All is fine mummy, I love you. Kisses. I have got everything.”

However, after one particular phone call, Inge has become more and more concerned for her daughter’s well being. She added:

“The attack took place on 3 March. A man, a foreigner, attacked Katya, grabbed her neck and put a knife at her throat. My daughter tried to save her life, she had to jump from the sixth floor. She has serious injuries, she can’t walk. And yesterday Katya [Ekaterina’s nickname] called and said she would be taken to jail. They want to make her guilty.”

It’s said that Stetsyuk’s attacker was detained at the airport as he tried to flee Dubai. The unnamed man faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted for the attack. It was during an interrogation that Ekaterina became a suspect, as the man made damning claims against the model.

In addition to trying to raise £11,000 for medical costs, Inge is fighting back at those accusing her daughter of being an escort. She defended:

“My daughter is a well known model in Irkutsk. On 15 February she left for Dubai for a month where she had a contract.”

Understandably, as the laws are different in Dubai, this gossip is likely to “cause her more trouble.” While the Russian consulate has asked Ekaterina’s loved ones to stay silent on the matter, Inge isn’t sure whom she can trust. In fact, she plans to fly to Dubai as soon as possible.

Gocha Buachidze, the Russian Counsel in Dubai, gave this update on the concerning situation:

“We are thoroughly studying the situation around Russian citizen Ekaterina Stetsyuk and we are providing all necessary support to her. The investigation is in progress. The Consulate cannot give any more details of the accident due to the request of the citizen herself.”

We’re certain this isn’t the last we’ve heard of this controversy. Be sure to check back for any and all updates!
