And E! certainly seems to back his claims, having exonerated him in an internal investigation.
But is their parent company swooping in to silence his accuser??
“Everything was set, my attorney [Howard King] and I were going to be on a plane to New York City, the pre-interview was supposed to be Friday [March 16] and the taping that following Monday [March 19]. But the morning of our flight, they called my lawyer and abruptly canceled. No explanation was given.”
Hardy is upset, naturally, even moreso given Megyn’s championing of the accusers of Harvey Weinstein, Donald Trump, etc. She said:
“I could have gone with a number of shows, but I picked Megyn Kelly because of other interviews she had done supporting women in the #MeToo movement.”
With no other explanation, Hardy can only find one conclusion for her interview being canceled: corporate synergy.
See, E! is owned by NBC Universal, the parent company of NBC, where Megyn Kelly Today airs.
Hardy now believes NBC shut her down to try to protect Seacrest; as she put it:
“It doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out.”
NBC Universal has publicly sided with Seacrest, saying the investigation found “insufficient evidence to support the claims” — something they did not do with Matt Lauer.
Hardy said she could have gone with any number of shows; we’ll have to see which one she chooses now — and what she’ll say.
What do YOU think of Hardy’s claims??
