In case you hadn’t heard, you can get your hands on the strap that was on Russell Crowe‘s jock — if you have the coin!
After his divorce with Danielle Spencer, the L.A. Confidential star found catharsis in capitalism by selling off dozens of his prized possessions in a massive auction.
In a statement released by Sotheby’s Australia, he explained:
“Divorce has its way of making you really examine the things that are essential in life ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ and the things that are not. Through the process I had a look around and realized I had a lot of stuff. Career stuff, stuff I’ve collected, and stuff in general. Boxes and boxes of stuff├óΓé¼┬ªso in the spirit of moving forward into fresh air, here’s a portion of that collection of stuff.”
Lots in the Sotheby’s auction, titled The Art Of Divorce, include Russell’s jockstrap from Cinderella Man, his sword from Gladiator, and his ridiculous purple suit from Virtuosity.
In addition to his own movie memorabilia, there’s a healthy amount of art, guitars, vehicles, and more — but the oddest thing may be a Mosasaur skull he got from Leonardo DiCaprio!
You can see the full catalog HERE — but hurry up!
The auction begins April 7 (Russell’s bday and wedding anniversary) at 6 p.m. local time in Sydney — that’s 4 a.m. EST! And if you’re going to bid by phone or internet you have to register by 11 p.m. EST!
