Alex Rodriguez is clapping back.
As you may’ve seen, reports recently accused the former MLB star of threatening to cut child support payments to ex wife Cynthia Scurtis, as he’s still wrapped up in a bitter feud with the 45-year-old’s brother Constantine. Well, apparently, these claims are a bunch of bullshit.
On Thursday, A-Rod spoke with the press and called the allegations “false and highly offensive.” Not only did Alex shut down the gossip, but he also revealed that he has “always paid far more than the maximum” for child support and promised “that will never change.”
Jennifer Lopez‘s love noted:
“My daughters are my number one priority and always will be. It’s highly offensive to me that my former brother-in-law, who has been trying to pursue a frivolous case against me for four years and has gotten absolutely nowhere with it in court, is misrepresenting my relationship with my daughters to manipulate the public’s opinion.”
Oh snap! The retired baseball pro shares daughters Natasha and Ella with Cynthia.
In case you forgot, in 2014, Mr. Scurtis filed an explosive civil lawsuit against Alex. The legal war has since accused the retired baseball pro of “fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, unjust enrichment, and civil conspiracy.” Apparently, the two are at odds over a real estate company they founded together.
Nonetheless, Rodriguez is maintaining his innocence in all of this. The American athlete added:
“This is a classic tale of somebody trying to use the media against me for their own gain. I may have not been perfect in the past, but I am very proud of who I am, and how I live my life now and it is important to me that my daughters feel the same way.
I wouldn’t even respond to these false accusations if not for my daughters, because I would never want them to think this is true. Unfortunately, however, there are some people who would do anything for money, except work.”
Yikes. What a messy family drama.
Still, we’re just glad to hear that Alex isn’t cutting off his girls out of revenge!!
