People magazine has selected 2018’s “Beautiful Issue” cover star!
*Drumroll* It’s… Pink!
On Wednesday, the mag announced that the 38-year-old singer would be this year’s honoree. The So What artist posed for the cover alongside her equally beautiful children, six-year-old Willow Sage Hart and 15-month Jameson Moon Hart. She might be a Grammy-winning pop star, but #TheBeautifulIssue cover star #Pink admits she’s just taking it “day by day” when it comes to being a mom to her two kids. “I immediately turned to whoever was in the room, and said, ‘Did you ever think this was as good as it gets?’ … I feel more beautiful [now]├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥and I have decided that for the whole week that the magazine is out, no one is allowed to look me directly in the eyes.”
Of course, being a real AF pop star, Pink had plenty of jokes about her People cover. Specifically, she poked fun at son Jameson’s facial expression:
“I think, honestly, it was Jameson and Willow that secured that deal for me. I’m wondering if in 20 years if Jameson’s gonna be upset about his first cover. I mean, it’s pretty good.”
As for her daughter, Pink revealed to Ellen that young Willow is still coping with body image issues. As you surely know, Pink made a rousing speech about beauty standards at the 2017 MTV VMAs, after Willow expressed some doubts about her own looks.
“She goes, ├óΓé¼╦£Yeah well I still feel that way.’ I was like, ├óΓé¼╦£For what? That you’re ugly?’ She’s like, ├óΓé¼╦£Yup, I just want you to know I still feel that way. Nothing you did helped.’ I was like, ‘Thanks, babe. Well you know we all feel that way sometimes.’ She’s like, ├óΓé¼╦£We do?’ I’m like, ├óΓé¼╦£We’re not doing this again. I have to go.’ “
How sad! Nonetheless, per Pink’s People cover issue, she’s doing everything in her power to keep her kids “label-less.” On her gender neutral environment at home, the chart topper explained:
“Absolutely. [But] I feel like gender-neutral is in itself a label and I’m label-less. I don’t like labels at all so I believe that a woman and a girl can do anything.”
Hear! Hear! Also, we’re just glad that Pink’s keeping her daughter positive. She concluded with Ellen:
“There’s nothing wrong with beautiful and there’s nothing wrong with beautiful on the inside, beautiful on the outside. It’s all different shades, it’s all different sizes. It means whatever it means to you. I think on one hand my sense of humor is the best part about all of it and on the other hand, it’s a wonderful time that we’re celebrating all different kinds of people.”
Well said. For Pink’s celebration with Ellen, be sure to ch-ch-check out the clip (below)!
