This sounds serious!

After taking a few nights off from performing to recover from swollen vocal chords, SZA‘s return to the TDE Championship Tour wasn’t so triumphant — as she later claimed her voice was “permanently injured.”

In a series of troubling tweets, the All The Stars singer revealed that her Tuesday night performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden only made her vocal condition worse, writing:

“Tonight was the test. That settles that…

I jus wanna be left alone my priorities are fucked up. They been fucked up. I need space goodbye.”

Wow. She must be devastated!

The 27-year-old was forced to go on vocal rest last week, which saw her sidelined for a few dates on the tour headlined by Kendrick Lamar.

SZA shared the update with her fans, confessing that her voice “just won’t fucking work” after non-stop touring for the past 11 months. She shared on Instagram:

For anyone who hasn’t seen this . I’ve been touring for 11 months. This didn’t happen overnight . Ive been troubleshooting for a while now and Usually steroids and pushing through help. They don’t this time . I’m not sick my voice just won’t fucking work😔 🤷🏾‍♀️. If I don’t pause now I’ll be forced to pause permanently . I’m genuinely sorry for every face, voice ,and energy field I won’t be touching ! I’m literally taking as many steroids as I can to speed this up!! Its a waiting game and super weird to be blamed for stuff outta my control but I get it ! again .. I’m sorry..I’ll be right back . Pray for me or don’t . Preciate u either way ❤️-SA post shared by SZA (@sza) on May 23, 2018 at 8:40pm PDT

Her recent tweets, however, were much bleaker. She wrote on Tuesday:

So sad — right when her career is taking off, too!

We’re sending positive vibes to the singer in hopes she makes a full recovery.
