UPDATE, 3:30 p.m. ET:
There are apparently two stories out there now… one Tekashi69 is telling his crew, and one that he’s telling the cops.
According to law enforcement, Tekashi told them he was stopped at a red light when a car bumped his from behind; two men got out and robbed him, before grabbing him, throwing him into their car, and driving off. They eventually apparently got his jewelry after the rapper called his baby momma at home and had her bring it all down to them.
Cops are skeptical that Tekashi has told different details to them than what he’s telling his crew, but, that’s where we’re at. According to TMZ, Tekashi still hasn’t been cooperative with cops for the investigation with anything besides the initial story.
Rapper Tekashi69 was kidnapped, pistol whipped, and robbed late last night, and he’s now in the hospital under the close care of doctors as he tries to recover from the vicious, nearly life-threatening attack.
According to reports in TMZ, the rapper was apparently working on a music video in Brooklyn at some point on Saturday, and around 4:00 a.m., he returned home after the shoot.
Apparently, when he got to his house, another car pulled in behind him and blocked his driveway — after which three hooded gunmen apparently got out of the car, pistol whipped Tekashi69, and rendered him unconscious. Whoa…
The gunmen then allegedly drove the rapper around New York, demanding various amounts of money and jewelry.
At one point, the car returned to Tekashi’s home, where two gunmen got out and allegedly stole more than $750,000 in jewelry, and between $15,000 and $20,000 in cash.
The night wasn’t over for the gunmen yet — who knows what they were planning to do next — but the rapper was able to open the back door of the car at some point and jump out. One gunmen chased him for a while, but eventually turned back.
The rapper then jumped into a stranger’s car at an intersection and pleaded for help, which the stranger did by calling the police. Now, the rapper is in the hospital and dealing with various tests, including a CT scan, to see how bad his injuries may be.
