Bradley Cooper has turned into such a mature leading man!!
The movie star known earlier in his career for such funny films as The Hangover and Wedding Crashers has taken a much more serious turn as his acting career continues — and now, it’s about to be even more significant!
A Star Is Born, Cooper’s newest film, is already getting a LOT of Oscar buzz before it hits theaters October 5 — both for Cooper and Lady GaGa — but to hear the 43-year-old actor tell it, it’s all come about because of his family!
Considering this is Cooper’s first film since the birth of his daughter Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper — with 32-year-old Russian model Irina Shayk — it’s a big deal for the actor to mark the event.
And speaking to NPR about it this week, Cooper went deeper than that, explaining exactly how his new family has affected his prodigious acting career (below):
“I spent about 15 years going from movie to movie to movie. And then I hit 39 and I stopped and I said, ‘What do I really want to do?’ I want to tell Joseph Merrick’s story in The Elephant Man. So I did that for a year. Then this story came to me, A Star Is Born, and then I spent the next four years doing that. And the one thing that I know in the future is: It’s worth all the time to dedicate, even if one piece of art comes out of it in a half a decade, that would still be incredible as long as I can feel like it’s the movie I wanted to make, which is this movie. So I guess having a child, and having a family of my own — which is a miracle and something I’ve always dreamt of — has opened me up even more, I guess, to the day, and to be present.”
That’s big praise for his family, and a big deal as Cooper suggests he’ll continue to take more serious turns in the industry and slowly, passionately develop the projects he wants.
Can’t hate that!!
