The Saturday Night Live star gave a priceless necklace to his fiancé (above) that holds special meaning in his heart as it’s the badge number worn by his late father Scott, a New York firefighter who died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

But as eagle eyed fans noticed, it’s also the same necklace Pete gave to ex-girlfriend Cazzie David.
Except it’s not really, according to the comedian. Responding to a fan who blasted him for the “ridiculous” the necklace regifting, the 24-year-old wrote on Instagram:
“Actually I didn’t give that to my ex. Yes she had one but it was a replica. I had a bunch of replicas made. My sister and grandpa also have one. The one that Ari has is the one my dad actually died in and the he wore his entire career and the one I’ve worn for over 17 years.”
You heard him, Perezious Readers. Ari has the real prize and everything else is just a cheap replica!
Explaining how special the necklace really is to him, Pete continued:
“I’ve actually never taken it off other than for SNL or for work. So it means a lot to me. Please learn to be nicer and not assume the worst in people. It’s a terrible way to live.”

On top of donning the special necklace, the God is a Woman singer recently got Pete’s dad’s badge number tattooed on her ankle. So, clearly this relationship is no imitation.
