Chris Hardwick Responds To Chloe Dykstra's Abuse Accusations: 'I Was Blindsided By Her Post'

no title
Chloe Dykstra‘s revelations about relationship abuse went viral yesterday — with many readers assuming, based on the references in Dykstra’s initial post, that she was writing about ex Chris Hardwick even without mentioning him by name.
And late last night, Hardwick finally publicly responded to the serious accusations, seemingly confirming it was him who was being accused by Dykstra, while also simultaneously denying ever doing the things she alleged.

The (now former) Nerdist star released a statement late last night about the alleged abuse, saying in part (below):

“I was heartbroken to read Chloe’s post. Our three year relationship was not perfect — we were ultimately not a good match and argued — even shouted at each other — but I loved her, and did my best to uplift and support her as a partner and companion in any way and at no time did I sexually assault her. When we were living together, I found out that Chloe cheated on me, and I ended the relationship. For several week after we broke up, she asked me to get back together with me and even told me she wanted to have kids with me, ‘build a life’ with me and told me that I was ‘the one,’ but I did not want to be with someone who was unfaithful. I’m devastated to read that she is now accusing me of conduct that did not occur. I was blindsided by her post and always wanted the best for her. As a husband, a son, and future father, I do not condone any kind of mistreatment of women.”

Wow.
Clearly that’s a pretty strong response to what had already been very explosive allegations by Dykstra.
Business-wise, there’s no word yet on what’ll end up happening to some of Hardwick’s other properties — like Talking Dead, the show he hosts after Walking Dead on AMC.

Of course, the social consequences and fallout here far out-weigh whatever’s happening in the entertainment side of things.
We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
