There Are Zombie InsectsSome species of the parasitic fungus cordyceps (notably ophiocordyceps unilateralis) grow into the brains of insects like ants -- and take control of their bodies! The ants do the cordyceps' bidding, purposely spreading to infect others. They even continue to serve after the ant's body dies!
